The third international interdisciplinary conference of the Maternal and Infant Nutrition and Nurture Unit (MAINN) at the University of Central Lancashire, "Nutrition and Nurture in Infancy and Childhood:
Bio-Cultural Perspectives" will be held on Wed 8th, Thurs 9th, Fri 10th June 2011 at Grange over Sands, Cumbria.
Keynote speakers will be Sue Ashmore – Director of UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Initiative; Professor Helen Ball – Department of Anthropology, Durham University; Professor Mary Renfrew – Director of MIRU, University of York; Professor Uwe Ewald – Consultant Neonatologist, Uppsala University/NICU, Sweden; Dr Mike Woolridge –Leeds Institute of Health and Social Work, University of Leeds; and Professor Muktiar Zaman – Khyber Teaching Medical College, Peshawar, Pakistan.
Abstracts deadline is 1st November 2010. Papers, posters or workshops are invited on any aspect of infant and child nutrition and feeding to include biological, social, cultural, psychological, political, economic and practice issues. The scope includes fetal and neonatal nutrition, infant and child nutrition, feeding and eating, up to and including adolescence.
