Black Breastfeeding Week 2019 – One Mum Tells Her Story

Black Breastfeeding Week

The MBRRACE Report showed that maternal and infant mortality is much higher in BAME families, and that maternal mortality among black mothers in the U.K. is FIVE TIMES higher than it is among white mothers.

These shocking numbers are a call to action for every one of us to do our part to address them.

Breastfeeding is a powerful way to combat many of the inequalities in maternal and infant health – and it is core to LCGB’s mission to work to ensure that every family can access the skilled support that they need.

It’s just been World Black Breastfeeding Week 2019, and to celebrate we would like to share a personal story from Revelation, a proud black breastfeeding mum, and hear why she is celebrating Black Breastfeeding Week.
