This year LCGB’s Conference sponsorship places have been awarded to Gretel Finch, and Kirsty Jenkins. Both are aspiring IBCLCs, with Gretel only needing to top up her current clinical practice to be eligible for the exam, Kirsty expecting to take it next year, and both well along the path. Gretel has been very largely responsible for bringing our research project to fruition with the necessary academic Ethics approval, and is our current Research Lead. Kirsty holds a post where she is involved in working towards the BFI accreditation, helps to train staff, and supports mothers both in hospital and at home. This year a special sponsorship was donated by Dr Felicity Savage, Chair of WABA and Honorary Member of LCGB, and this was awarded to Leah Gallagher, IBCLC and member of LCGB. Leah is the only IBCLC covering a large area and can expect to travel long distances to help women, attending support groups at the invitation of the midwives, and building up her private practice.
We were delighted to welcome them all to the 2017 Conference.
